COLONIA, N.J. – Mercy University Women's Basketball junior Grace Lesko (Northampton, Pa./Northampton) has been named the East Coast Conference (ECC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the fifth time this season and junior Amani Abuhatab (West Haven, Conn./West Haven) was tabbed to the Honor Roll for Week 15.
Lesko scored a game-high and career-high-tying 30 points on 11-of-16 shooting with a game-high eight rebounds as Mercy earned a share of their first-ever ECC Regular Season Championship with a 73-47 Senior Day win over STAC on Saturday. The junior also added two assists and has now scored 30 points three times this season.
Abuhatab scored 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting with three rebounds and one steal as Mercy earned a share of their first-ever ECC Regular Season Championship with a 73-47 Senior Day win over STAC on Saturday.
The award is the 21st for Lesko this season and the seventh for Abuhatab. Mercy has now earned 36 awards on the year.
Head Coach Scott Lagas and the Mavericks resume action on Saturday, March 7th when they face the winner of Molloy/UDC in an ECC Women's Basketball Championship Semifinal at Daemen at 2:30 p.m.
