UNIONDALE, N.Y. – Despite home runs from senior Zach Ashline (Colonie, N.Y./Colonie Central) and junior Dylan Koch (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Pace University), the Mercy University Baseball Team dropped a hard-fought 3-2 decision in 10 innings at ECC foe RV Molloy University on Friday afternoon at Mitchel Field.

The Mavericks (19-14, 10-5 ECC) see their seven-game winning streak come to an end and fall to the Lions (21-7, 13-2 ECC) for the third time this season.

Molloy took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second on a Jack Vallario RBI single.

The Mavericks tied the game at 1-1 in the sixth inning when Ashline hit a solo home run to left field.

The combination of junior Nevin Scaperotti (Stormville, N.Y./Carmel) and freshman Dylan Ruland (Islip, N.Y./Islip) limited the Lions to just one run through nine innings, sending the game into extra innings tied at 1-1.
