Kelly and LaMonica Named ECC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player and Goalie of the Week; Callow, Grzelaczyk and Laibach Tabbed to Honor Roll

COLONIA, N.J. – Mercy University Women's Lacrosse sophomore Ashlinn Kelly (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) has been named the East Coast Conference (ECC) Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, and senior Olivia LaMonica (Oak Ridge, N.J./Jefferson Township) has been tabbed Goalie of the Week for the second time. Senior Maeghan Callow (Massapequa, N.Y./Plainedge) and freshmen Jessica Grzelaczyk (Seaford, N.Y./Seaford) and Keira Laibach (Massapequa, N.Y./St. Dominic) have been tabbed to the Honor Roll for Week Eight.

Kelly had a team-high 11 points on five goals and six assists to go with three caused turnovers, five draw controls and three ground balls as Mercy went 2-0 on the week. The sophomore opened the week with a game-high six points on three goals and three assists to go with one ground ball, one caused turnover and three draw controls in the win over Jefferson on Wednesday. The midfielder ended the week with two goals, three assists, two ground balls, two caused turnovers and two draw controls in the win at Daemen on Saturday.

LaMonica went 2-0 in goal with 15 saves, a .517 save percentage and 7.78 goals-against average. The senior opened the week with nine saves and just five goals allowed to go with four ground balls and one caused turnover in Mercy's 12-5 win over Jefferson on Wednesday. LaMonica ended the week with six saves and one ground ball to earn the win at Daemen on Saturday. The senior recorded her 300th career save in the win.

Callow had a team-high 17 draw controls on the week as Mercy went 2-0. The senior opened the week with four draw controls in the win over Jefferson on Wednesday. Callow ended the week with a game-high and career-high 13 draw controls in Mercy's 22-9 win at Daemen on Saturday.

Grzelaczyk had a team-high-tying six goals to go with two caused turnovers and a ground ball as Mercy went 2-0 on the week. The freshman opened the week with a goal and one caused turnover in the win over Jefferson on Wednesday. Grzelaczyk ended the week with a game-high five goals to go with one ground ball and one caused turnover in the win at Daemen on Saturday.

Laibach had three caused turnovers and three ground balls, helping lead a Mercy defense that allowed just 14 goals in a 2-0 week. The freshman opened the week with three caused turnovers and two ground balls in the 12-5 win over Jefferson on Wednesday. Laibach ended the week with one ground ball in the 22-9 win at Daemen on Saturday.

The award is the fifth for Kelly this season, the third for LaMonica, the first for Callow, the seventh for Grzelaczyk and the first for Laibach. Mercy has now earned 28 awards on the year.

Head Coach Dawn Sachs and the Mavericks resume action on Wednesday when they play at Adelphi at 7 p.m.
