DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Mercy University Softball juniors Averi Miller (Las Vegas, Nev./Arbor View) and Allison Murphy (Stony Point, N.Y./North Rockland) have been named Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) Second Team All-East Region, as announced by the organization earlier today.
Miller is named All-Region by the D2CCA for the first time in her career after being named NFCA Second Team All-Region last week. The First Team All-ECC selection started all 48 games and hit a team-high .418 with 35 RBI, 11 doubles, 66 hits, 29 runs, four triples, a home run and a team-high 14 stolen bases. The five-time ECC Honor Roll recipient led the team in hits and triples and was second on the team in doubles. Miller ranked fifth in the ECC in average, second in hits and sixth in stolen bases. The shortstop also recorded her 100th career hit during the season.
Murphy earns All-Region honors for the first time in her career. The First Team All-ECC selection started all 48 games, hitting .360 with 42 RBI, 44 runs, 59 hits, 16 doubles, 13 stolen bases, three home runs and two triples. The junior led the team in RBI, runs and doubles and was second in average, hits, stolen bases and home runs. The four-time ECC Honor Roll recipient was second in the ECC in runs, fourth in hits, second in doubles, third in RBI and seventh in stolen bases. The second baseman recorded her 100th career hit and run scored during the season.
