NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Mercy University Field Hockey seniors Reagan Lane (Rocky Point, N.Y./Rocky Point), Rebecca McClure (Canastota, N.Y./Pace University) and Samantha Trickel (Ottsville, Pa./Palisades) have earned the Northeast-10 Conference's (NE10) Presidents' Award for Academic Excellence.
This is an award that the conference is offering to honor graduating seniors with magna cum laude status. The recipients must have participated in at least two seasons of NE10 competition and are a current student-athlete at the time of graduation. Each recipient shall be acknowledged in a formal conference press release and provided a keepsake medallion.
Lane graduated in May with a 3.63 GPA as a Nursing major. The senior started all 17 games and played 1,020 minutes with two defensive saves. Lane was named to the NE10 Academic Honor Roll in both the fall and spring. Lane ended her Mercy career with 12 defensive saves in 65 career games.
McClure graduated in May with a 3.92 GPA as a Health Science-Pre-OT major. The senior appeared in eight games making starts with 53 saves, a .716 save percentage and one win. McClure was named to the Academic Honor Roll in both the fall and spring. McClure recorded 170 saves with seven wins, a .739 save percentage and 2.91 goals-against average in 29 games.
Trickel graduated in May with a 3.89 GPA as a Marketing and International Business major. The senior started all 17 games and ended the season with one goal, two assists and four points. Trickel was named to the Academic Honor Roll in both the fall and spring. Trickel ended her Mercy career with eight goals, six assists and 22 points in 66 career games.
