COLONIA, N.J. – Mercy University Field Hockey junior Charlotte Sabert (Mohegan Lake, N.Y./Lakeland) has been named the East Coast Conference (ECC) Field Hockey Player of the Week for Week Two and junior Madison Brefka (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero North Syracuse) and sophomore Gwendolyn Smith (Sound Beach, N.Y./Miller Place) have been tabbed to the Honor Roll.

Sabert had a team-high three points on the week with a goal and an assist in two games. The junior opened the week with a goal at Southern Connecticut State on Wednesday, taking three shots with two on goal. She dished out an assist against Saint Michael's on Sunday to cap off the week.

Brefka scored a goal on two shots in Mercy's 3-2 loss to Saint Michael's on Sunday.

Smith scored a goal on two shots in Mercy's 3-2 loss to Saint Michael's on Sunday.

The awards are the first for all three this season and Mercy has now earned four awards on the year.

Head Coach Marissa Spinazzola and the Mavericks resume action tomorrow when they host Adelphi at 1 p.m.
