Gerald Davis

Coach Scott Lagas  welcomes Gerald Davis as an assistant coach.

Coach Lagas  is familiar with coach Davis during their days as assistant coaches at C. W. Post University.

Prior to joining the Mercy College Mavericks, coach Davis most recently coached three years at The College of New Rochelle. In his time with the Blue Angels he led the 2017-2018 squad to a Hudson Valley intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Championship and garnered the Independent Coach of the Year honors.

Prior to New Rochelle, coach Davis served as the head woman's basketball coach at Mount Saint Vincent for three seasons (2008-2011) and led the program to back-to-back ECAC tournament bids.

Coach Davis' vast experience also includes a head coaching stint at The City College of New York (CCNY), boy's varsity at Environmental Studies HS  and girls varsity at Valley Stream North HS.

Coach Davis is a Brooklyn native who loves the game of basketball. Coach Lagas says, "Gerald's passion and enthusiasm will be a great addition to the culture that we are establishing here at Mercy College."

Coach Davis earned a bachelor's of arts degree in Psychology from The College of New Rochelle and a Master's in Education from St. John's University.  He is also a published author of three offerings.
