Scouting the Mavericks
Mercy is coming off a three-game sweep of Saint Michael's that saw the Mavericks improve to 8-13 on the year. Sophomore John Mooradian leads the Mavericks with a .333 average and has an ECC-high-tying 18 stolen bases on the year. The shortstop has 15 RBI, 17 runs scored and is second on the team with a .487 slugging percentage. Also swinging the bat well is junior Joseph Sadallah who is hitting .319 with a team-high 20 runs and is tied with Mooradian for the ECC lead in stolen bases with 18. Sadallah has 12 RBI and has recorded a team-high nine doubles. Junior Anthony Murphy is second in the ECC with 21 RBI and is batting .276 with six doubles and two home runs. Junior Adonis Garcia is second in the ECC with five home runs and has driven in 13 runs and scored 16 runs in 55 at bats. The pitching staff is led by freshman Jack Kelly who has posted a team-best 2.89 ERA with a 1-4 record and 19 strikeouts in 28.0 innings. Junior Kevin Tise is 2-2 on the year with a 4.82 ERA and has a team-high 20 strikeouts in 28.0 innings.
Scouting the Warriors
Nyack enters the contest having dropped two of their last three games, but one of their nine wins came against Mercy on March 15th when they earned a 23-3 win in Dobbs Ferry. The Warriors have been led by sophomore Anthony Torreullas is hitting .355 with 15 RBI and 15 runs scored, while junior Isaak Bustamante has a team-high 16 RBI along with a .316 average. Junior Herman Alvarado is batting .317 with a team-high 23 runs scored and has driven in 11 runs. Junior Carlos Pino has 14 RBI and a team-high two home runs, while senior Jack Kelley leads Nyack on the mound with a 2.48 ERA, 4-1 record and 30 strikeouts in 32.2 innings.
