DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Apr. 11, 2018) – The Mercy College softball team is back in action on Thursday, April 12th when they host Molloy at 2:30 p.m. The Mavericks then host Queens on Saturday and play at Georgian Court on Sunday to conclude the week.

Scouting the Mavericks
Mercy has won three of their last four games and are led at the plate by senior Cassidy Wootten who is batting .393 with 17 RBI and ten runs scored. Senior Allie Pellizzaro is hitting a team-high .396 with six RBI and nine runs scored. Junior Mikayla Newham is coming off a five-hit day at NYIT on Tuesday and is batting .390 on the year with 11 RBI and a team-high 21 runs and 32 hits. Junior Kaylee Stevens is hitting .353 with ten RBI, two home runs and seven runs. Stevens is also 4-3 in the circle with a 2.82 ERA in 44.2 innings. Sophomore Destini Bullock leads the Mavericks with 19 RBI and is hitting .304 with a team-high-tying four home runs. Senior Skania Lemus also has four home runs and has driven in 17 runs in 74 at bats. Junior Yazzy Jameson leads Mercy in the circle with a 5-3 record and has a 3.25 ERA in 51.2 innings with 34 strikeouts. Junior Raina Gorman is 4-2 on the year with a 3.50 ERA in 44.0 innings.
Scouting the Lions
Molloy enters these contests having won three of their last five games but were swept at LIU Post on Tuesday. The Lions are led by junior Kaitlyn Snyder who is batting .370 with six home runs, 13 RBI and a team-high 33 runs in 108 at bats. Snyder also has 18 doubles and is slugging .722 on the year. Freshman Courtney Greene is hitting .289 with a team-high 23 RBI and has four home runs and 12 runs scored in 97 at bats. The pitching staff is led by junior Jenna Turato who has an ECC-best 11 wins with a 2.66 ERA in 20 starts with 77 strikeouts in 116.0 innings. Freshman Tonianne Larson has started eight games and is 5-4 with a 2.63 ERA in 66.2 innings.
Scouting the Knights
Queens will play at Bridgeport on Thursday before facing the Mavericks. The Knights swept NYIT at home in their last doubleheader and are .500 in ECC play heading into the games at Bridgeport. Queens is led at the plate by freshman Jessica Hickey who is batting .327 with a team-high four home runs and has 11 RBI and ten runs. Senior ToniMarie Valeriano is hitting .323 with a team-high 13 RBI along with three home runs. The senior is also 5-6 in the circle with a 3.12 ERA in 67.1 innings of work. The Knights pitching staff is led by senior Vanessa Juengerkes who is 4-4 with an ECC-best 1.78 ERA in 51.0 innings with 28 strikeouts.
Scouting the Lions
Georgian Court will host Jefferson on Wednesday and Felician on Saturday before hosting the Mavericks. The Lions have won three games in a row and currently sit five games above .500 heading into the games with Jefferson. Georgian Court is led at the plate by Samantha Reilly who is batting an impressive .505 with 14 home runs, 41 RBI and 27 runs scored in 95 at bats. Samantha Salomon is second on the team with five home runs and 20 RBI and is batting .305 on the year. Jessica O'Neil leads the pitching staff with a 2.92 ERA and 9-5 record in 88.2 innings with 27 strikeouts.
