Scouting the Mavericks
Mercy enters this weekend's series having won five of their last six games and currently sit in fourth place in the ECC standings. The Mavericks are led at the plate by junior Anthony Murphy who is batting .328 with a team-high 39 RBI (No. 2 in ECC). The outfielder has 24 runs scored, 11 doubles and three home runs in 128 at bats. Sophomore John Mooradian is sixth in the ECC with 26 RBI and leads the conference with 30 stolen bases in 142 at bats. The shortstop has 34 runs scored and 45 hits in playing all 36 games. Junior Joseph Sadallah is second in the ECC with 27 stolen bases and is hitting .341 with 12 doubles and 35 runs scored. Junior Miguel Ortiz Sanchez has 26 RBI on the year and junior Adonis Garcia has a team-high seven home runs (No. 2 in ECC) on the year. The pitching staff is led by junior Kevin Tise who is fifth in the ECC with a 3.56 ERA in 48.0 innings. The junior has a 2-2 record with 40 strikeouts and has tossed two complete games. Junior Oscar Marcial leads the Mavericks with three wins and freshman Jack Kelly has made eight starts with a 5.05 ERA.
Scouting the Pioneers
LIU Post currently sits in second place in the ECC standings and has won three games in a row after sweeping a three-game set with Southern Connecticut. The Pioneers are led at the plate by Dave Brehm who has a team-high .371 average with 21 RBI and 17 runs scored. Rob Andreoli is batting .342 with 23 RBI and 28 runs scored in 117 at bats and Anthony Vaglica is hitting .292 with 21 RBI and three home runs in 120 at bats. Ramger Iglesias is hitting .323 with 24 runs and ranks in the top five of the ECC with 25 stolen bases. The pitching staff is led by James Varela who is second in the ECC with a 1.73 ERA and is 8-0 with 88 strikeouts in 73.0 innings. Noah Lorenzo has a 3.58 ERA and is 4-2 with 45 strikeouts in 60.1 innings.
