Scouting the Mavericks
Mercy enters this weekend's contests on a six-game winning streak and currently sits in third place in the ECC standings. The Mavericks are led at the plate by senior Skania Lemus who is hitting .361 with a team-high eight home runs (No. 3 in ECC) and 26 RBI in 97 at bats. Senior Cassidy Wootten is hitting .360 with five home runs and 23 RBI with 16 runs scored in 75 at bats. Senior Baylee McCormick is coming on strong and is now hitting .344 with three home runs and ten RBI in 64 at bats. Senior Allie Pellizzaro is hitting a team-high .370 with 11 RBI and 13 runs scored and junior Mikayla Newham is hitting .368 with 13 RBI, 28 runs scored and a .477 on base percentage. The pitching staff is led by junior Yazzy Jameson who is 8-4 with a 3.01 ERA in 79.0 innings. Junior Raina Gorman is 7-3 in the circle with a 3.36 ERA in 66.2 innings.
Scouting the Spartans
St. Thomas Aquinas has lost three games in a row and currently sits in fifth place in the ECC standings. The Spartans are led by sophomore Ashley Landolina who is batting .427 (No. 1 in ECC) with four home runs, 17 RBI and 24 runs scored. Junior Amanda Leone is hitting .273 with 17 RBI and three home runs and junior Kelcy McGeehan is batting .305 with a team-high nine doubles and has 13 RBI. The pitching staff is led by junior Briana Keaveney who is 5-9 with a 3.55 ERA in 100.2 innings with 52 strikeouts. Junior Colleen Borum is 6-11 with a 5.20 ERA in 105.0 innings with 40 strikeouts.
Scouting the Pioneers
LIU Post currently sits in first place in the ECC standings and will play at Pace and NYIT before playing Mercy on Sunday. LIU Post is led by Julia Seader who is sixth in the ECC with a .381 average and has 23 RBI, 31 runs, four home runs and nine doubles in 38 games. Abbey Fortin is another contributor for the Pioneers with her .387 average, 36 RBI, 31 runs, nine home runs and nine doubles in 137 at bats. Fortin is currently second in the ECC in slugging percentage and leads the ECC in RBI. The pitching staff is led by Hannah Olshevski who is second in the conference with a 2.34 ERA in 122.2 innings with a 12-6 record.
