Scouting the Mavericks
Mercy enters Tuesday's contest having won their last two games and with a win would have their most wins in a season since 1990. The Mavericks have been led by junior Joseph Sadallah who is batting .352 with a team-high 37 runs along with 17 RBI, 50 hits, 13 doubles and 27 stolen bases. Junior Anthony Murphy is hitting .328 with a team-high 40 RBI and has 12 doubles on the year. Sophomore John Mooradian has a team-high 32 stolen bases with a .321 average, 36 runs, 27 RBI and a team-high 51 hits. Junior Adonis Garcia has a team-high seven home runs with 25 RBI and 30 runs scored in 132 at bats. The pitching staff is led by junior Kevin Tise who is 3-2 with a 3.44 ERA with 55.0 innings pitched with 43 strikeouts. Freshman Jack Kelly has a 4.69 ERA and is 2-5 in 48.0 innings with 30 strikeouts.
Scouting the Chargers
New Haven enters Tuesday's game having won three games in a row. The Chargers come into the game ranked second in the East Region and No. 16 in the country and are led by junior Joe Caico who is batting .418 with a team-high 33 RBI and 34 runs scored. Senior Tom Walraven is hitting .362 with 29 runs and 20 RBI. Senior Jack Zagaja is second on the team with 26 RBI and is batting .266 on the year. The pitching staff is led by senior David Palmer who is 6-1 with a 0.60 ERA in 60.1 innings. Senior Tim Kennedy is 6-1 with a 2.01 ERA in 53.2 innings.
