Scouting the Mavericks
The Mavericks have won nine of their last 11 games and are led by junior Anthony Murphy who leads the ECC in RBI with 30 and is batting .302 with 13 runs, eight doubles and two home runs. Sophomore John Mooradian is fifth in the ECC with a .366 average and has 18 RBI, 25 runs and five doubles. The shortstop is leading the ECC with 23 stolen bases in 25 attempts. Junior Joseph Sadallah is also swinging the bat well, batting .330 with 12 RBI and a team-high 27 runs scored in 94 at bats. Sadallah has 22 stolen bases in 24 attempts and has a team-high doubles. Junior Adonis Garcia is third in the ECC with six home runs and has 17 RBI and 22 runs scored in 75 at bats. The pitching staff is led by junior Kevin Tise who is fourth in the ECC with a 3.97 ERA in 34.0 innings. Tise is 2-2 on the year with two complete games and 27 strikeouts. Freshman Jack Kelly has pitched to a 4.40 ERA in six starts and has pitched 30.2 innings with 21 strikeouts. The bullpen has been led by freshman Demetri Mesimeris who is 1-0 with a 1.74 ERA in seven appearances with 10.1 innings pitched.
Scouting the Lions
The Lions enter this weekend's series with a perfect 7-0 record in ECC play and are led by Sean Hogan who is batting a team-high .382 with 13 RBI and 15 runs scored. Angelo Navetta is hitting .354 with 16 RBI, ten doubles and 20 runs scored in 23 games and Jack McCarty leads Molloy with 17 RBI and is batting .352 with 16 runs scored. Jake Saltzman has a team-high three home runs and is hitting .311 with 16 RBI and nine stolen bases. Leading the pitching staff is Kevin Hiss who is 5-1 with a 4.03 ERA in 44.2 innings with 44 strikeouts. C.J. Schildt has made seven starts and is 1-2 with 6.60 ERA in 30.0 innings and Shawn Klotsche leads the bullpen with four saves and a 4.91 ERA in 14.2 innings.
