Scouting the Mavericks
The Mavericks have dropped three of their first four ECC games and enter this weekend's contests with an 11-8 overall record. Mercy has been led at the plate by junior Kaylee Stevens who is batting a team-high .375 with seven RBI and 15 hits in 40 at bats. The junior has also excelled in the circle with a team-best 2.82 ERA and 4-3 record in 39.2 innings pitched. Junior Mackenzie Dunlop has had a strong start to her first season as a Maverick, batting .358 with nine RBI, ten runs and five stolen bases. Sophomore Destini Bullock ranks among the ECC leaders in RBI with 19 and home runs with four. Bullock is batting .321 and has a team-high four doubles along with ten runs scored. Senior Skania Lemus is batting .327 with 15 RBI, three home runs and a team-high 15 runs scored and senior Cassidy Wootten is hitting .447 with 11 RBI and two home runs in 38 at bats. Junior Yazzy Jameson is pitching to a 3.80 ERA and a 4-2 record in 38.2 innings and junior Raina Gorman is second on the team with a 2.85 ERA in 27.0 innings pitched.
Scouting the Pioneers
The Pioneers host Queens on Thursday before facing the Mavericks but enter those games with a 2-0 record in ECC play. LIU Post is led by Julia Seader who is third in the ECC with a .410 average and has 17 RBI, 18 runs, four home runs and eight doubles in 22 games. Abbey Fortin is another contributor for the Pioneers with her .378 average, 20 RBI, 15 runs, four home runs and seven doubles in 82 at bats. Fortin is currently second in the ECC in slugging percentage and ranks in the top five in RBI. The pitching staff is led by Hannah Olshevski who is second in the conference with a 2.24 ERA in 75.0 innings with a 7-3 record.
Scouting the Purple Knights
The Purple Knights play at Molloy and at NYIT on Thursday and Saturday before facing the Mavericks. Bridgeport is led by Kaira Ramon who is batting .457 with ten RBI, six doubles and 13 runs scored in 46 at bats. Samantha Sabor is hitting .347 with an ECC-best 21 RBI and a team-high seven doubles. Allison Luzzi is hitting .403 with 18 RBI and a team-high three home runs and 21 runs scored in 72 at bats. The pitching staff is led by Amanda Staheli who has a team-best 3.99 ERA and a 5-5 record in 61.1 innings with 46 strikeouts. Ashley Eisnor is 5-6 on the year with a 4.96 ERA in 59.1 innings with 34 strikeouts.
