Scouting the Mavericks
Mercy enters Saturday's game coming off an 82-74 win over Roberts Wesleyan on Sunday. The Mavericks are facing Notre Dame (Ohio) for the first time and are looking for their third home win of the year. Mercy is led by redshirt junior Bryan Griffin who was named to the ECC Honor Roll and Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association Division II-III Player of the Week Honorable Mention earlier this week. The forward is fourth in the ECC with 19.2 points per game and second in the ECC with 13.1 rebounds per game. Griffin also shoots a team-best 51.9 percent from the floor and is shooting 40.0 percent from downtown. Junior Nakeem Hamilton is second on the team with 12.6 points per game and is third with 5.1 rebounds per game. Junior Dayvon Cuffey is putting up 7.3 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game and freshman Garrett Kirkland is coming off a career-high 20 points in the win over Roberts Wesleyan.

Notre Dame has dropped five of their last six games and is coming off a 101-95 overtime loss to West Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday. The Falcons play in the Mountain East Conference and went 23-9 last season, advancing to the NCAA Tournament after winning the Mountain East Conference Tournament. Notre Dame is led by Levi Frankland who is averaging a team-high 18.0 points per game and is shooting a team-best 51.1 percent from the floor. Frankland also averages 5.1 rebounds per game and is shooting 45.2 percent from downtown with 2.8 made threes per game. Larenz Thurman is posting 13.3 points per game and a team-high 4.0 assists per game, while Jordan Burton records 9.6 points per game and a team-high 1.0 steals per game.
