Scouting the Mavericks
The Mavericks are coming off an 0-4 trip in Myrtle Beach that saw three of the losses come against teams currently ranked in the top 10 of the NCBWA East Region rankings. Mercy has been led at the plate by senior Anthony Murphy who is batting a team-best .452 with a team-high 11 RBI, three home runs and 14 hits in 31 at bats. Senior Joseph Sadallah is hitting .320 with a team-high 11 runs and eight stolen bases and has driven in seven runs with two home runs. Junior John Mooradian has also started strong at the plate hitting .313 with eight RBI and a team-high three triples. Leading the pitching staff so far is junior Luis Grullart who has pitched a team-high 8.0 innings with a team-high 13 strikeouts. Senior Fernando Figueroa has a team-best 3.60 ERA and a 1-0 record in 5.0 innings.
Scouting the Bears
Bloomfield started their 2019 season 0-3 with losses to Assumption College. The Bears were led by Jason Holguin who batted a team-high .429 on the trip with two RBI and a double. Tyree Bradley hit .400 in three games with an RBI and two runs scored and Elvis Lopez also has a team-high-tying two RBI. The pitching staff is led by Brelin Dixon who has a 0.00 ERA in 3.0 innings pitched with one start. Juan DeJesus has made two appearances on the mound and has a 2.08 ERA in 4.1 innings.
Scouting the Dolphins
Le Moyne will face off with NYIT on Saturday before facing the Mavericks. The Dolphins have started the season 3-3 and are currently ranked No. 7 in the NCBWA East Region Poll. Le Moyne has been led at the plate by Camillo Spinoso who is hitting a team-high .391 with a team-high four home runs and RBI. David DiNorcia is hitting .300 with five RBI and a team-high five stolen bases and eight runs scored. The pitching staff is led by Ryan Murphy who is 1-0 with a 6.23 ERA in a team-high 13.0 innings pitched with 14 strikeouts. Sam Walsh is 0-1 on the bump with a 12.00 ERA in 9.0 innings with 11 strikeouts.
