ETTRICK, Va. (Mar. 10, 2019) – Powered by two RBI from senior Anthony Murphy (Peekskill, N.Y./Peekskill), junior John Mooradian (Marlboro, N.Y./Marlboro) and freshman Austin DeRosa (Seymour, Conn./Seymour), the Mercy College baseball team earned an 8-3 victory over Virginia State University on Sunday afternoon.
The Mavericks (4-9) have won two games in a row and win the season series with the Trojans (6-5).
Murphy, Mooradian and DeRosa all drove in two runs to lead the Mavericks and junior James Jakuba (Wappingers Falls, N.Y./Central Connecticut State University) pitched 6/2 innings with five hits allowed to pick up the win.
