Scouting the Mavericks
Mercy is coming off a 2-1 trip to Virginia State this past weekend. Junior Luis Grullart picked up the win in game two on Saturday and junior Andrew Hernandez picked up the save in a 10-9 win. Senior Miguel Ortiz Sanchez had a double with the bases loaded and freshman James Dieguez knocked in the winning run on a sacrifice fly. On Sunday, senior Anthony Murphy, junior John Mooradian and freshman Austin DeRosa all recorded two RBI in an 8-3 win over the Trojans. Junior James Jakuba pitched 6.2 innings with just five hits allowed to pick up the win.
Scouting the Clippers
Concordia has opened their season 4-8 and is coming off a 4-4 trip in Florida. The Clippers are led by senior Andre Jackson who is hitting a team-best .524 with six RBI and a home run. Freshman Matt Rinaldi is hitting .393 with a team-high 11 RBI and 12 runs scored. The pitching staff is led by junior Michael Romano who has a 4.41 ERA with a 1-1 record in a team-high 16.1 innings. Freshman Logan Vallias has a 5.68 ERA with a 1-1 record in 12.2 innings.
