Scouting the Mavericks
The Mavericks extended their win streak to three games with an 8-7 victory over Concordia on Tuesday. Senior Anthony Murphy drove in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth to lead Mercy. Junior John Mooradian went 2-for-5 with two RBI and seniors Adonis Garcia and Miguel Ortiz Sanchez both went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Senior Joseph Sadallah hit 2-for-4 with an RBI and five stolen bases and freshman Ryan Saltzman went 2-for-3. Senior Fernando Figueroa earned the start on Monday and went 3.2 innings with one earned run allowed to take a no-decision. Sophomore Demetri Mesimeris pitched the final 1.2 innings with one run allowed to earn the win.
Scouting the Chargers
The Chargers are coming off a doubleheader split with Felician on Wednesday and are ranked No. 3 in the NCBWA East Region Poll. New Haven currently sits at 6-4 on the year and is led by Matt Chamberlain who has a team-high .405 batting average with a team-high 18 RBI and four home runs. Billy Huber is batting .357 with seven RBI and nine runs scored and Andrew Garcia is hitting .353 with nine RBI and seven runs. The pitching staff is led by Brandon LaManna who has a 0.00 ERA in 10.0 innings with two saves and 12 strikeouts. Christopher Leindecker has a 0.69 ERA in 13.0 innings with a 1-1 record.
