Scouting the Mavericks
The Mavericks enter this week's games on a six-game win streak and are coming off a three-game sweep of regionally-ranked New Haven. Mercy is currently led by senior Anthony Murphy who is batting .383 with an ECC-best 18 RBI and had three home runs and four doubles. Junior John Mooradian is hitting .383 with 15 RBI, 14 runs and ten stolen bases in 60 at bats. Senior Joseph Sadallah is batting .340 with a team-high 22 runs and an ECC-best 19 stolen bases. The pitching staff is led by ECC Honor Roll recipients junior James Jakuba and sophomore Jack Kelly. Jakuba is 2-2 with a team-best 3.55 ERA and 21 strikeouts in 25.1 innings. Kelly is 1-2 with a 5.09 ERA and 14 strikeouts in 17.2 innings. Senior Kevin Tise is 2-2 with 21 strikeouts in 23.0 innings and junior Andrew Hernandez has a team-high four saves.
Scouting the Warriors
Nyack enters this week's game on a two-game winning streak after beating regionally-ranked Franklin Pierce on March 13th and 14th. The Warriors are led by senior Jeremiah Alonzo who is batting a team-high .414 with six runs and four RBI. Senior Herman Alvarado is hitting .283 with a team-high nine RBI and has six runs scored. Senior Gabriel Vasquez has a team-high 11 runs scored and ten stolen bases with a .294 batting average. The pitching staff is led by junior David Gauthier who has a team-best 3.04 ERA in 26.2 innings with 18 strikeouts and a 1-2 record.
Scouting the Knights
The Knights enter this weekend's games on a four-game win streak after sweeping a four-game set with Bloomfield. Queens is led by the reigning ECC Player of the Week Eric Roubal who is hitting .435 with 15 RBI and three home runs. The reigning Rookie of the Week Jesse Spellman is batting .351 with 11 RBI and eight runs scored in 37 at bats. Ron Linsalato is hitting .347 with eight RBI and five doubles in 49 at bats. The pitching staff is led by Dimitri Papazoglou who has a 0-1 record and 3.60 ERA in 10.0 innings of work. Jack Palma has pitched a team-high 21.0 innings and has a 4.71 ERA with 22 strikeouts and a 2-0 record.
