Scouting the Mavericks
Mercy is coming off a loss to Adelphi on Tuesday and have dropped three of their last four games. The Mavericks are led at the plate by junior John Mooradian who is batting a team-high .357 with 18 RBI, 18 runs scored and 12 stolen bases. Senior Anthony Murphy is hitting .354 with a team-high 20 RBI and four home runs and senior Joseph Sadallah is hitting .320 with a team-high 26 runs and 21 stolen bases. Senior Adonis Garcia was named to the ECC Honor Roll this week and is hitting .338 with 17 RBI and two home runs in 74 at bats. The pitching staff is led by senior Kevin Tise who has a 5.70 ERA and team-high three wins in 30.0 innings. Junior James Jakuba has a 6.14 ERA and 2-3 record in 29.1 innings pitched and sophomore Jack Kelly has a 1-2 record with a 5.40 ERA in 21.2 innings. Junior Andrew Hernandez leads the Maverick bullpen with five saves and a 0.00 ERA in 9.2 innings with 12 strikeouts.
Scouting the Purple Knights
Bridgeport is coming off a series win over defending ECC Champions St. Thomas Aquinas last weekend. The Purple Knights have been led by Alex Rauso who is batting .309 with a team-high 13 runs scored along with nine RBI and six doubles. Vincent DeRubeis has a team-high three home runs on the year and has a team-high-tying nine RBI. Ryan Donnelly has a .295 average with nine RBI, 12 runs and a team-high eight stolen bases. The pitching staff is led by Chris Martucci who has a team-best 1.21 ERA and 1-0 record in 22.1 innings. Jonathan Brooks has a 1-2 record with a 3.93 ERA in 18.1 innings with 13 strikeouts.
