Scouting the Mavericks
Mercy will conclude their series with Bridgeport on Monday before hosting Adelphi. The Mavericks are currently led at the plate by junior John Mooradian who is batting a team-high .379 with 20 runs and 20 RBI. The shortstop also has 16 stolen bases and leads the team with six triples. Senior Anthony Murphy is hitting .352 with a team-high 23 RBI and four home runs. Senior Joseph Sadallah is hitting .313 with a team-high 21 stolen bases and 28 runs scored with 11 RBI. The pitching staff is led by sophomore Jack Kelly who has a team-best 4.40 ERA with 21 strikeouts in 30.2 innings. Senior Kevin Tise has a 5.00 ERA with a team-high 41 strikeouts and three wins. Junior Andrew Hernandez leads the bullpen with five saves and a 1.69 ERA in 10.2 innings.
Scouting the Panthers
Adelphi will host Pace before taking on the Mavericks on Wednesday. The Panthers are currently ranked No. 4 in the East Region according to the NCBWA Poll and are led by Brandon Morse who has a team-high .387 average with 14 RBI and 22 runs scored. Lawrence Cicileo has a .366 average and has a team-high 23 RBI and five home runs. Brett Malm is batting .329 with 11 RBI and a team-high 13 doubles in 76 at bats. The pitching staff is led by Ed Baram who has a 4-0 record with a 0.81 ERA and 39 strikeouts in 33.1 innings. Tom Ambrosino has a 0.00 ERA and team-high three saves in 11.2 innings with 18 strikeouts.
Scouting the Pioneers
LIU Post will conclude its series with St. Thomas Aquinas on Monday before taking on Mercy on Friday. The Pioneers enter this week ranked No. 5 in the NCBWA East Region Poll and are led by Anthony Vaglica who is hitting .364 with 14 RBI and 15 runs scored. Zach Fritz is also hitting .364 with 17 RBI, three home runs and ten doubles. Dave Brehm has a team-high 18 RBI, 23 runs and eight stolen bases in 98 at bats. The pitching staff is led by James Varela who has a 1.98 ERA and 4-2 record in 50.0 innings with 69 strikeouts. Joshua Loeschorn is 3-0 on the year with a 2.42 ERA and two saves in 22.1 innings.
