DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Apr. 15, 2019) – The Mercy College baseball team resumes action on Tuesday, April 16th when they host Bloomfield at 3:30 p.m. The Mavericks will then resume ECC action with a four-game series against St. Thomas Aquinas starting on Thursday, April 18th.

Scouting the Mavericks
Mercy is coming off a series split with NYIT this past weekend. The Mavericks are led by junior John Mooradian who is batting a team-high .371 (No. 3 in ECC) with 29 RBI (No. 3 in ECC) and 18 stolen bases. Senior Anthony Murphy is hitting .344 with a team-high 31 RBI (No. 2 in ECC) and four home runs with a team-best .523 slugging percentage. The pitching staff is led by junior Luis Grullart who has a team-best 4.24 ERA in 40.1 innings and has a .353 average with seven RBI and two home runs in 34 at bats. Senior Kevin Tise has a 3-5 record with a 4.96 ERA and a team-high 49 strikeouts in 49.0 innings. Junior Andrew Hernandez leads the Mercy bullpen with a 2.84 ERA and team-high six saves.
Scouting the Bears
Bloomfield is coming off a doubleheader split with Jefferson on Saturday. The Bears are led by Khalid Legette who is batting a team-high .400 with a team-high 42 runs scored and 16 stolen bases. Tyree Bradley has a team-high-tying 34 RBI with a team-high eight home runs along with a .326 average. Darwin Tavarez is hitting .347 with a team-high-tying 34 RBI along with seven home runs in 121 at bats. The pitching staff is led by Wilfrido Valenzuela who has a team-best 3.89 ERA and 3-0 record in 37.0 innings with a team-high 49 strikeouts. Anthony Maldonado has a 6.13 ERA in a team-high 47.0 innings.
Scouting the Spartans
St. Thomas Aquinas is coming off a four-game sweep of Lincoln this past weekend. The Spartans are led at the plate by Andrew Jemison who is batting .345 with a team-high 28 RBI along with 25 runs scored. Tyler Patane is second on the team with 21 RBI and has pitched 24.0 innings with a 12.38 ERA in seven starts. Michael Morgan has 20 RBI and a team-high 12 doubles with an ECC-best 27 stolen bases in 110 at bats. The pitching staff is led by Thomas Gregory who has a team-best 2.48 ERA in 36.1 innings with a 2-2 record. Chris Cepeda is 5-3 with a 3.56 ERA in 55.2 innings pitched.
