Scouting the Mavericks

Mercy dropped three of our four to first-place LIU Post this past weekend. Mercy is led at the plate by junior John Mooradian who is batting .361 with a team-high 27 RBI and six triples. The shortstop also has 16 stolen bases and 23 runs scored in 119 at bats. Senior Anthony Murphy is second on the team with a .336 average and 26 RBI. The first baseman leads the team in home runs with four and has four doubles. Senior Joseph Sadallah has a team-high 23 stolen bases and leads the team with 33 runs scored. The pitching staff is led by senior Kevin Tise who has a 4.50 ERA and 3-4 record in 44.0 innings with 48 strikeouts. Junior Andrew Hernandez leads the Mercy bullpen with a 3.12 ERA and a team-high five saves in 17.1 innings.

Scouting the Bears

NYIT won three out of four against Bridgeport this past weekend. The Bears enter the week No. 3 in the NCBWA East Region rankings and are led at the plate by EJ Cumbo who is batting a team-high .446 with 16 RBI, three home runs and 14 stolen bases. Ryan Kuskowski is hitting .395 with a team-high 30 RBI along with three home runs. Ben McNeill is hitting .311 and is second on the team with 17 RBI. The pitching staff is led by DJ Masuck who has a 2.20 ERA and 6-0 record in 41.0 innings with 31 strikeouts. Joseph Murphy is 5-1 with a 1.61 ERA in 28.0 innings with 28 strikeouts. Ariel Taveras has an ECC-best nine saves and has a 2.70 ERA in 13.1 innings.
