Scouting the Mavericks
Mercy is coming off their first-ever NCAA Tournament win against Seton Hill on Wednesday. The Mavericks earned a 15-10 victory and have won five games in a row. Mercy defeated Le Moyne earlier this season on February 17th when they earned a 10-7 victory at Mercy Field. The Mavericks are led by the ECC Offensive Player of the Year in senior Ryan MacSpadyen who has a team-high and ECC-best 82 points with 43 goals and 39 assists. Senior Bobby Chillianis has a team-high 45 goals and is second on the team with 61 points. Junior Tommy McPartland had a team-high six points in the First Round win over Seton Hill on Wednesday and senior Max Littleton has a team-high 34 caused turnovers. Junior Antonio Rey leads the Mavericks with a 57.5 faceoff percentage and 71 ground balls. Senior Ryan Gibbons is 18-1 with a 7.03 goals against average, 174 saves and .600 save percentage in 19 starts.
Scouting the Dolphins
Le Moyne is making their 17th NCAA Tournament appearance and earned the top seed after going 15-2 with the program's 14th Northeast-10 Conference Championship. The Dolphins have won five National Championships with the last coming in 2016. Leading the Le Moyne offense is Matt Hutchings who has a team-high 59 points on 32 goals and 27 assists. Riley Larson has a team-high 37 goals and has 52 points overall on the season. Dan Entenmann leads the Dolphins with 54 ground balls and Zac Prattson has a team-high 22 caused turnovers. Sam Kury has won 59.8 percent of his faceoffs and Riley Smith is 15-2 in goal with a 7.22 goals against average, 129 saves and .578 save percentage in 17 starts.
