DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Oct. 15, 2021) – The Mercy College men's basketball team has announced its 2021-22 regular season schedule. The Mavericks look to qualify for the ECC Tournament for the second straight year under fifth-year head coach Michael Maczko, entering the season with 11 home games.
"We put an emphasis on assembling a strong non-conference schedule this season. Playing NCAA tournament caliber teams early, will battle test us and prepare our guys for the conference. I am excited to see our team take on the challenge," stated Maczko.
Mercy opens up their 2021-22 season at home on November 17th against Post. The Mavericks will then play at Dominican on November 20th before facing Caldwell at Dominican on November 21st. Mercy concludes the three-game roadstand with a game at Georgian Court on November 24th.
The Mavericks return home to face Pace on November 28th before traveling to Mansfield to open the month of December with a game on December 1st. Mercy opens ECC play on December 8th at home against St. Thomas Aquinas before playing at Chestnut Hill on December 11th.
Maczko leads the Mavericks back into ECC play when they host Roberts Wesleyan on December 17th and play at Bridgeport on December 19th. Mercy concludes the 2021 portion of their schedule when they play at Nyack on December 30th.
Mercy begins 2022 with a home game against ECC foe Queens on January 5th before playing at Molloy (Jan. 8) and Staten Island (Jan. 12). The Mavericks then have a three-game homestand hosting UDC (Jan. 15), D'Youville (Jan. 21) and Daemen (Jan. 23).
The Mavericks head back on the road to play at Roberts Wesleyan on January 26th before ending the month of January with a home game against Bridgeport on the 30th.
Mercy starts the month of February with back-to-back road games against St. Thomas Aquinas (Feb. 2) and Queens (Feb. 9). The Mavericks then host Molloy on February 12th before playing at D'Youville (Feb. 18) and at Daemen (Feb. 20). Mercy hosts Staten Island in their final home game on February 23rd and ends their regular season at UDC on February 26th.
The First Round of the ECC Tournament will take place on March 2nd followed by the Semifinals on March 5th and Final on March 6th. The higher seeds will host in the first round and the semifinals and final will be played at Queens.
