Molloy evened the score in the 13th minute when Fiordiliso scored. However, the Mavericks responded just under a minute later as Volz sent a pass to Cotton and Cotton shot from the right side into the goal to make it 2-1. Viscione made two saves to close out the quarter and Mercy held a 2-1 lead after one quarter.
The Mavericks wasted little time in scoring in the second quarter as Schreck scored her first goal in the 17th minute after a cross from Fitzgerald to make it 3-1. It stayed 3-1 until the 20th minute when Sacco scored following a pass from Rosenfeld right in front of the goal to give Mercy a 4-1 lead. It remained 4-1 at halftime with Mercy controlling the action.
Schreck picked up her second goal of the game in the 35th minute when Cotton sent a cross from right to left and Schreck put it into the net to give Mercy a commanding 5-1 lead.
Kreider found the back of the net in the 57th minute, off an assist from Schreck, to put Mercy ahead 6-1. The Mavericks defense did not allow a shot in the fourth quarter and came away with the win.
