Scorcia Records 100th Career Goal as No. 4/8 Men's Lacrosse Takes Down No. 3 Mercyhurst on the Road

ERIE, Pa. (April 13, 2021) – Powered by senior Dominic Scorcia (Franklin Square, N.Y./Carey) scoring a game-high six goals and recording his 100th career goal, the No. 4/8 Mercy College men's lacrosse earned a big 15-13 road victory over national power No. 3 Mercyhurst University on Tuesday afternoon at Saxon Stadium.

The Mavericks (6-0) pick up their first ever win over the Lakers (7-1) who suffer their first loss of the season. Mercy was previously 0-4 all-time against Mercyhurst. The Lakers have made the NCAA Tournament six times since 2010 and won the National Championship in 2011. The loss for Mercyhurst snaps a 12-game winning streak dating back to last year. The loss is the first regular season home loss for the Lakers since April 7, 2018 against Seton Hill. The No. 3 ranked Lakers is the second highest ranked team the Mavericks have defeated in program history and the highest ranked team they have beaten on the road. The Mavericks win over No. 2 Le Moyne at home in 2019 is the highest.

Scorcia becomes the sixth Maverick to record 100 career goals and he added an assist for a game-high seven points.
