Brady and Znaniecki Named All-Region by IWLCA

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. (May 20, 2021) – Mercy College women's lacrosse junior Micayla Brady has been named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-East Region First Team and senior Kellie Znaniecki has been named to the Second Team, as announced by the organization earlier today.

Brady is named All-Region for the second straight year after being named Second Team All-Region in 2019. The junior was named ECC Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-ECC earlier this month. She was named ECC Defensive Player of the Week four times and had a team-high 60 ground balls and 51 caused turnovers with one goal and two assists in 14 games. Brady led the ECC in ground balls and caused turnovers and ranked in the top five nationally in caused turnovers per game and ground balls per game. She had a career-high 11 ground balls and nine caused turnovers in the Mavericks ECC Semifinal win over STAC on May 6th.

Znaniecki earns All-Region honors for the first time after being named First Team All-ECC earlier this month. The senior ranked second in the ECC in draw controls (69), fourth in ground balls (34) and fifth in caused turnovers (17). She also scored three goals on the year and had a career-high 10 draw controls in Mercy's win over STAC on May 6th.
