Women's Lacrosse Under Consideration for a Spot in NCAA Tournament in First Regional Rankings

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – The Mercy University Women's Lacrosse Team is one of eight teams currently under consideration for a spot in the NCAA Division II Women's Lacrosse Championship, according to the first East Region Regional Rankings released earlier today. For this week, schools are listed as "under consideration" for championship selection in alphabetical order.

Six teams are taken from the East, Atlantic, Midwest and South Regions to make up the tournament field. The winners of the ECC, CACC and NE10 Conference Tournaments earn automatic bids to the tournament from the East Region. Mercy looks to qualify for the program's fifth-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament and the first since 2022. The Mavericks are currently 11-2 on the year and are ranked No. 18 nationally in the IWLCA Poll.

Head Coach Dawn Sachs and the Mavericks resume action tonight when they play at No. 12 Adelphi at 7 p.m.
