DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Jan. 4, 2022) – The Mercy College softball team has announced its 2022 regular season schedule, which includes eight home doubleheaders at Smith Field. The Mavericks will open their season on February 18th at Francis Marion University. Mercy looks to qualify for the ECC Tournament for the second straight year.
Mercy opens their season at Francis Marion on February 18th. The Mavericks will then face Bloomsburg and Tusculum on February 19th at Francis Marion. Mercy concludes the South Carolina trip taking on Bloomsburg on February 20th.
The Mavericks head back down south on March 4th when they play at Mount Olive. Mercy will face host Mount Olive and West Liberty on the 4th. The Mavericks will face the same two teams on March 5th before heading to Virginia Union for a doubleheader on March 6th.
Head Coach Mike Fazio and the Mavericks play their first games in the state of New York on March 13th with a doubleheader at Adelphi. Mercy then goes to Florida where they will play doubleheaders at Barry (Mar. 18), Lynn (Mar. 19), Eckerd (Mar. 21), Florida Tech (Mar. 22) and Embry-Riddle (Mar. 23).
Mercy returns to New York where they will open ECC play at D'Youville on March 27th. A doubleheader at Pace on March 30th concludes the month of March.
After playing their first 26 games on the road, the Mavericks host ECC foe Bridgeport in their home opener on April 1st. Mercy will then host Staten Island on April 3rd.
The following week the Mavericks play road doubleheaders at Molloy (Apr. 5), St. Thomas Aquinas (Apr. 7) and Queens (Apr. 9). Mercy returns home for a doubleheader with Georgian Court on April 10th before hosting D'Youville (Apr. 15) and Molloy (Apr. 16) to cap off the week.
Mercy continues their homestand with matchups against St. Thomas Aquinas (Apr. 19) and Queens (Apr. 21). The Mavericks step out of conference play with a road doubleheader at Post on April 24th before hosting Southern Connecticut State on April 27th in their final non-conference games of the season.
The Mavericks conclude the regular season with back-to-back road doubleheaders against Bridgeport (Apr. 29) and Staten Island (Apr. 30).
The ECC Tournament will take place on May 4th and May 6-7.
