MANSFIELD, Mass. (Oct. 17, 2022) – Mercy College field hockey graduate student Alyssa Sacco (Patchogue, N.Y./Patchogue-Medford) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference (NE10) Field Hockey Player of the Week and graduate student Lauren Viscione (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) has been named Goalkeeper of the Week for Week Seven. Junior Flynn Kirk (New City, N.Y./Albertus Magnus) was named to the Honor Roll.

Sacco had a team-high three goals and six points as Mercy went 1-1 on the week. The graduate student scored the game-winning goal in Mercy's 3-2 win over Pace on Tuesday and scored two goals at Southern N.H. on Saturday.

Visicone went 1-1 on the week with 34 saves, a 2.50 goals-against average and .872 save percentage in two starts. The graduate student opened the week with a career-high 21 saves with just two goals allowed in the win over Pace on Tuesday. The goalkeeper ended the week with a game-high 13 saves at Southern N.H. on Saturday.

Kirk had a game-high two defensive saves in the Mavericks 3-2 win over Pace on Tuesday.

The awards are the first for Sacco and Kirk this season and the third for Viscione. Mercy has now earned seven awards on the year.

Head Coach Marissa Spinazzola and the Mavericks resume action on Wednesday, October 19th when they play at St. Thomas Aquinas at 2:30 p.m.
