Scouting the Mavericks

·        Mercy is coming off a doubleheader split with Virginia Union on March 6th. The Mavericks won game one 4-3 before losing 8-6 in game two. Sophomore Shannon Sisco had a team-high two RBI in game one.

·        Mercy was picked fourth in the ECC Preseason Poll after going 17-14 last season, qualifying for the ECC Tournament for the first time since 2018. The Mavericks went 15-9 in ECC play a year ago.

·        On Monday, Sisco, senior Alexis Crawford and freshman Maddie Lula were named to the ECC Honor Roll.

·        Sophomore Shannon Sisco was named ECC Player of the Week, junior Alexi Benson was tabbed Pitcher of the Week, freshman Victoria Seppala was named Rookie of the Week and senior Ariana Ricci was named to the Honor Roll on February 21st.

·        Sisco is hitting a team-high .484 with a team-high seven runs and 15 hits to go along with three RBI. Lula is batting .389 with seven hits, three runs and one RBI and Crawford is hitting .375 with 12 hits, six runs, three RBI and a team-high six stolen bases.

·         Junior Samantha Franck is hitting .250 with four RBI and a home run and Ricci has a team-high five RBI with three runs scored.

·         Benson is 2-2 in the circle with a 4.38 ERA in 24 innings with 19 strikeouts.

·         Crawford, graduate student Danielle Burgos and junior Sydney Johnston were named First Team All-ECC last season.

·         Mercy looks to beat Adelphi for the first time since 2009.

Scouting the Panthers

·        Adelphi is coming off a doubleheader split with Georgian Court on Friday. The Panthers won game one 4-2 before falling 6-5 in game two.

·        The Panthers were picked first in the NE10 Preseason Coaches' Poll after going 30-10 in 2021, advancing to the NCAA Tournament.

·        Adelphi is led by one-time NE10 Rookie of the Week Courtney Wengryn who is batting a team-high .478 with six RBI, four doubles and five runs. One-time NE10 Rookie of the Week Ziara Shreter is hitting .355 with a team-high nine runs and 12 stolen bases and Alexa Sacripante is hitting .276 with a team-high eight RBI.

·        Jaden Farhat has a team-high two home runs with seven RBI.

·        The pitching staff is led by one-time NE10 Pitcher of the Week Claire Fon who is 2-3 with a 1.48 ERA in 23.2 innings with 25 strikeouts. One-time NE10 Pitcher of the Week Lindsey Hibbs is 2-2 in the circle with a 3.85 ERA in 23.2 innings with 36 strikeouts.
