Scouting the Mavericks
· Mercy is coming off 6-2 and 6-4 losses to Lynn on Saturday. The Mavericks were led by senior Ariana Ricci who had a team-high three RBI in game two.
· Mercy was picked fourth in the ECC Preseason Poll after going 17-14 last season, qualifying for the ECC Tournament for the first time since 2018. The Mavericks went 15-9 in ECC play a year ago.
· On March 7th, sophomore Shannon Sisco, senior Alexis Crawford and freshman Maddie Lula were named to the ECC Honor Roll.
· Sisco was named ECC Player of the Week, junior Alexi Benson was tabbed Pitcher of the Week, freshman Victoria Seppala was named Rookie of the Week and Ricci was named to the Honor Roll on February 21st.
· Sisco is hitting a team-high .469 with a team-high seven runs and 15 hits to go along with three RBI. Lula is batting .265 with nine hits, three runs and one RBI and Crawford is hitting .314 with 16 hits, seven runs, four RBI and a team-high seven stolen bases.
· Junior Samantha Franck has eight hits with five RBI and a home run and Ricci has a team-high eight RBI with three runs scored.
· Benson is 2-5 in the circle with a 5.84 ERA in 38.1 innings with 29 strikeouts. Senior Sabrina Gonzalez has pitched 24 innings with six strikeouts in four starts. Junior Angelina Oquendo is 0-2 in the circle with a 4.31 ERA in 13 innings with eight strikeouts.
· Crawford, graduate student Danielle Burgos and junior Sydney Johnston were named First Team All-ECC last season.
Scouting the Tritons
· Eckerd is coming off 3-2 and 9-0 wins over Florida Southern on Saturday.
· The Tritons were picked 10th in the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Preseason Poll after going 9-13 in 2020.
· Eckerd is led by Brenna Lokeinsky who is hitting a team-high .321 with a team-high 15 runs and 26 hits. She also has 14 RBI and three home runs. Skylar Redish has a team-high five home runs and 15 RBI and is hitting .265.
· Lauren Margolis has 10 RBI and is hitting .259.
· The pitching staff is led by Hannah Perkins who is 8-5 with a 1.79 ERA in 86 innings with 51 strikeouts. Kensley Durrance is 5-3 with a 3.11 ERA in 56.1 innings with 28 strikeouts.
Scouting the Panthers
· Florida Tech is coming off 8-0 and 6-3 losses to Nova Southeastern on Saturday.
· The Panthers were picked 6th in the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Preseason Poll after going 13-15 last season.
· Florida Tech is led by Cheyenne Nelson who is batting a team-high .414 with a team-high 30 runs with 23 RBI and a team-high 10 doubles. Mikayla Lewin has a team-high-tying 25 RBI with a team-high six home runs and is hitting .365.
· Chloe French also has a team-high 25 RBI and is hitting .333. Mikayla Wessel has a team-high 16 stolen bases.
· Alex Hendrian leads the pitching staff with a 2.87 ERA and 7-5 record in 97.2 innings with 58 strikeouts. Samantha Guider is 8-6 in the circle with a 3.49 ERA in 80.1 innings with 34 strikeouts.
Scouting the Eagles
· Embry-Riddle is coming off 10-0 and 2-0 wins over Hillsdale on Saturday.
· The Eagles were picked seventh in the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Preseason Poll after going 18-6 in 2020.
· Embry-Riddle is led by Mahaliyah Sandridge who is batting a team-high .410 with 14 RBI, 17 runs and three home runs. ReAnne Drayton has a team-high 15 RBI and Lia Johnson is hitting .338 with a team-high 15 stolen bases.
· Lauren Latoria has nine RBI and 13 hits.
· The pitching staff is led by Kelsi Collins who has a 2.21 ERA in 73 innings with an 8-3 record and 68 strikeouts. Mallory Kinahan is 5-4 in the circle with a 3.21 ERA in 52.1 innings with 28 strikeouts.
