Garvalosa and Brady Named USA Lacrosse Magazine All-Americans

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (May 16, 2022) – Mercy College women's lacrosse senior Madeline Garvalosa (Seaford, N.Y./St. Anthony's) has been named Second Team All-American by USA Lacrosse Magazine and senior Micayla Brady (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) was tabbed Third Team All-American.

The duo helped lead the Mavericks to a 14-5 record and their third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. They also helped lead Mercy to the ECC Regular Season and Tournament Championships.

Garvalosa is named All-American for the first time after being named IWLCA First Team All-Region last week. The senior was named ECC Goalkeeper of the Year and First Team All-ECC after being named ECC Defensive Player of the Week four times. Garvalosa went 14-5 in goal with 159 saves, a .513 save percentage and 9.30 goals-against average. The senior led the ECC in saves, save percentage and goals-against average. Garvalosa also ranks third nationally in save percentage and 10th in goals-against average. She made a season-high 15 saves in the win over STAC on April 30th.

Brady is named Third Team All-American by USA Lacrosse Magazine for the second straight year. The senior was named Second Team All-Region by the IWLCA after being named ECC Defender of the Year and First Team All-ECC. The two-time ECC Preseason Defensive Player of the Year was named ECC Defensive Player of the Week twice and IWLCA Division II Defensive Player of the Week once. The senior ended the season with a team-high-tying 40 caused turnovers to go along with 33 ground balls and 34 draw controls. She had a season-high eight caused turnovers with four ground balls in the Mavericks NCAA Tournament game at Stonehill on May 13th.
