Garvalosa Named IWLCA Second Team All-American

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (May 19, 2022) – Mercy College women's lacrosse senior Madeline Garvalosa (Seaford, N.Y./St. Anthony's) has been named Second Team All-American by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).

Garvalosa helped lead the Mavericks to a 14-5 record, their third straight NCAA Tournament appearance and to the ECC Regular Season and Tournament Championships.

The senior is named All-American by the IWLCA for the first time after being named Second Team All-American by USA Lacrosse Magazine. Garvalosa was named First Team All-Region by the IWLCA, ECC Goalkeeper of the Year and First Team All-ECC after being named ECC Defensive Player of the Week four times. The goalkeeper went 14-5 in goal with 159 saves, a .513 save percentage and 9.30 goals-against average. The senior led the ECC in saves, save percentage and goals-against average. Garvalosa ranks third nationally in save percentage and 10th in goals-against average. She made a season-high 15 saves in the win over STAC on April 30th.
