Women's Lacrosse Ranked No. 12 Nationally in Final IWLCA Poll

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (May 23, 2022) – The Mercy College women's lacrosse team is ranked No. 12 nationally in the final ILWomen/IWLCA Division II Top 25 poll.

Mercy earns the No. 12 ranking after going 14-5 on the year and being nationally-ranked all season. The Mavericks won their third straight ECC Regular Season Championship and second ECC Tournament Championship. Mercy qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the third straight time and fourth time overall.

The Mavericks were led by IWLCA Second Team All-American senior Madeline Garvalosa who was named ECC Goalkeeper of the Year after going 14-5 with 159 saves, a .513 save percentage and 9.30 goals-against average. The senior led the ECC in all three categories. Head Coach Dawn Sachs and the Mavericks were also led by IWLCA Second Team All-Region selection and ECC Defender of the Year senior Micayla Brady who had a team-high-tying 40 caused turnovers in just 13 games with 33 ground balls and 34 draw controls. Senior Juliana Keenan was named First Team All-ECC after leading the team in goals (66) and points (84).
