DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (June 1, 2022) – Mercy College women's lacrosse seniors Madeline Garvalosa (Seaford, N.Y./St. Anthony's) and Juliana Keenan (Bethpage, N.Y./Plainedge) have been selected to play in the 2022 IWLCA Division II Senior All-Star Game.
The game will take place on Sunday, June 5th at 2:30 p.m. on Tierney Field at the US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Maryland. Admission for the game is free of charge.
Garvalosa and Keenan are two of 42 student-athletes selected for the Division II game and will play for the North team. The duo helped lead the Mavericks to the ECC Championship this season and their third straight NCAA Tournament appearance.
Garvalosa was named Second Team All-American by the IWLCA last month after being named Second Team All-American by USA Lacrosse Magazine. The senior was named First Team All-Region by the IWLCA, ECC Goalkeeper of the Year and First Team All-ECC after being named ECC Defensive Player of the Week four times. The goalkeeper went 14-5 in goal with 159 saves, a .513 save percentage and 9.30 goals-against average. The senior led the ECC in saves, save percentage and goals-against average. Garvalosa ranks third nationally in save percentage and 10th in goals-against average. She made a season-high 15 saves in the win over STAC on April 30th. The goalkeeper ends her career with an 18-7 record, 248 saves, a .518 save percentage and 8.06 goals-against average in 44 games.
Keenan was named Second Team All-Region by the IWLCA last month. The First Team All-ECC selection was named ECC Offensive Player of the Week once and tied for first in the ECC with 66 goals and was third with 84 points. She had a career-high eight points on five goals and three assists in the Mavericks ECC Championship win over Roberts Wesleyan on May 7th. Keenan ends her career with 90 goals, 29 assists, 119 points, 79 ground balls, 62 caused turnovers and 103 draw controls in 58 games.
