DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (June 27, 2022) – Mercy College Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Jordan Levine has resigned his position as Head Coach and Associate Director of Athletics and has been named Head Coach at Division I Long Island University.
"We are sad that Coach Levine is leaving Mercy, but are thrilled for him personally and professionally," stated Mercy College Director of Athletics Matt Kilcullen Jr. "He is very deserving of this opportunity as he built a powerhouse of a program here at Mercy. We wish him all the best at LIU!!"
Levine, the winningest coach in program history, spent ten years leading the Mavericks and served as Associate Director of Athletics. He was named Assistant Director of Athletics and Assistant Men's Lacrosse Coach in 2008 before being promoted to Head Coach and Associate Director of Athletics in 2012. Levine served as an assistant coach for the first three seasons of the program before being named the program's second head coach and taking the program to the national level. The Mavericks would be nationally ranked throughout Levine's tenure as head coach.
Levine ends his Mercy career with a 110-39 record overall and 43-17 record in ECC play. He guided the Mavericks to three NCAA Tournament appearances, including a trip to the National Championship Game this past season for the first time in program history. Levine also led Mercy to three straight ECC Championships and seven straight ECC Tournament appearances. He was named ECC Coach of the Year five times and led the Mavericks to a program-best No. 2 national ranking this season.
Under Levine's tutelage the Mavericks received a school-record ten All-American selections from the USILA and a school-record 11 USILA All-Region honorees. Mercy also had a school-record 11 named to the ECC All-Conference teams this season with Brady Kearnan being named Offensive Player of the Year, Tommy Umano being named Goalkeeper of the Year and Justin Gerdvil being tabbed Defensive Player of the Year.
A national search for his replacement is currently underway.
