WEST BABYLON, N.Y. (Jan. 30, 2023) – Mercy College men's basketball graduate student Sean Smith Jr. (Yonkers, N.Y./University of New Haven) has been named to the East Coast Conference (ECC) Men's Basketball Honor Roll for Week 11.

Smith Jr. averaged a team-high 26.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game on 48.6 percent shooting with 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game in two games this week. The graduate student opened the week with 22 points, nine rebounds, three assists and two steals against Staten Island on Wednesday. The forward ended the week with a game-high and season-high 30 points on 10-of-19 shooting with seven threes, 10 rebounds and one steal at UDC on Saturday.

The award is the first for Smith Jr. this season and the Mavericks have now earned four awards on the year.

Interim Head Coach Chris Watts and the Mavericks resume action on Wednesday, February 1st when they host Cheyney at 7 p.m.
