Scouting the Mavericks

·         Mercy is coming off 11-2 and 11-1 losses to St. Thomas Aquinas in their ECC opener on Tuesday. The Mavericks were led by senior Samantha Franck who homered in game one and by senior Nicole Smart who recorded an RBI double in game two.

·         Franck was tabbed to the ECC Honor Roll on Monday.

·         Senior Sydney Johnston was named ECC Player of the Week last week.  

·         Freshman Cayla Crawford was named ECC Player and Rookie of the Week and senior Alexi Benson was tabbed to the Honor Roll on March 13th.

·         Crawford was named ECC Rookie of the Week and junior Shannon Sisco was tabbed to the Honor Roll on February 20th.

·         Mercy was picked fourth in the ECC Preseason Poll after going 11-38 last season, qualifying for the ECC Tournament for the second straight season. The Mavericks went 9-15 in ECC play a year ago.

·         Mercy is 16-38 in their last 54 meetings against Molloy.

·         The Mavericks are 5-3 all-time against D'Youville.

·         Sisco is hitting .361 with a team-high 18 runs, eight doubles and 30 hits to go along with two RBI. Senior Hailey Puglia is hitting .295 with 18 hits and three doubles and Smart has 13 hits and 11 RBI. Johnston has a team-high 16 RBI with two home runs, four doubles and a .259 average and junior Alexandra Karavias has two RBI.

·         Crawford is hitting a team-best .365 with six RBI, 19 hits, 11 runs and a team-high-tying nine stolen bases.

·         The pitching staff is led by Benson who is 2-9 with a 4.08 ERA in 70.1 innings with 48 strikeouts. Senior Angelina Oquendo is 1-5 with a 5.62 ERA in 37.1 innings and freshman Marina Provencio is 2-1 in the circle with a 6.09 ERA in 23.0 innings.

·         Benson, Sisco and senior Samantha Franck were named Second Team All-ECC last season.

·         Mercy is hitting .238 as a team through 24 games and has a 5.51 ERA.

Scouting the Lions

·         Molloy is coming off 8-5 and 5-3 wins over New Haven on Tuesday.

·         The Lions were picked tied for second in the ECC Preseason Poll after going 24-33 last season, advancing to the final of the ECC Championship.

·         Molloy is led at the plate by one-time ECC Player of the Week Karsyn Eaton who is batting a team-high .353 with 10 runs, seven doubles and nine RBI. Alex Burns has a team-high 22 RBI with four home runs, 12 runs and seven stolen bases. Chrissie Huhn is second on the team with 11 RBI and has 13 runs scored.

·         Cheralyn Dusharme has 10 RBI and one-time ECC Rookie of the Week Mae Savage has eight RBI. One-time ECC Player of the Week Steph Conrade has seven RBI, a team-high 13 stolen bases to go along with a team-high 14 runs.

·         One-time ECC Pitcher of the Week Amanda King is hitting .306 at the plate with nine RBI and a team-high 16 runs scored. She is also 5-6 in the circle with a 2.94 ERA in 62 innings with 32 strikeouts. One-time ECC Pitcher of the Week Brianna Macias is 6-2 in the circle with a 2.56 ERA in 63 innings with 26 strikeouts.

·         Molloy is hitting .280 as a team and has a 2.90 team ERA.

Scouting the Saints

·         D'Youville is coming off 2-1 and 7-5 losses to Staten Island on Monday. The Saints will host St. Thomas Aquinas on Saturday before hosting Mercy on Sunday.

·         The Saints were picked in a tie for second in the ECC Preseason Poll after going 29-14 last season.

·         D'Youville is led at the plate by Hannah Bardeen who has a team-high 19 RBI, five home runs, six doubles and 18 runs scored and is hitting .333 on the year. Lauren Booth is hitting a team-high .340 with eight RBI and two home runs and Gianna Adamo is hitting .333 with five RBI.

·         Mikayla Bush and Jamie Bower are both tied for second on the team with 10 RBI and Laura Beck has eight RBI.

·         The pitching staff is led by Sarah Parzych who is 5-5 in the circle with a 3.59 ERA in 62.1 innings with 37 strikeouts. Booth is 1-5 in the circle with a 5.21 ERA in 45.2 innings with 21 strikeouts. Cassie Crerar is 1-5 with a 5.79 ERA in 38.2 innings with 27 strikeouts.

·         D'Youville is hitting .264 as a team and has a 4.70 team ERA.
