Scouting the Mavericks

·         Mercy is coming off a 6-2 loss to St. Thomas Aquinas on Tuesday after earning a 3-1 game one win. The Mavericks were led by senior Alexi Benson who pitched a complete game in game and by junior Shannon Sisco and sophomore Victoria Seppala who each had an RBI.

·         Freshman Cayla Crawford was named ECC Rookie of the Week and senior Samantha Franck was tabbed to the Honor Roll on Monday for the second straight week.

·         Junior Shannon Sisco was named to the ECC Honor Roll on April 3rd.

·         Franck was tabbed to the ECC Honor Roll on March 27th.

·         Senior Sydney Johnston was named ECC Player of the Week on March 20th.  

·         Crawford was named ECC Player and Rookie of the Week and Benson was tabbed to the Honor Roll on March 13th.

·         Crawford was named ECC Rookie of the Week and Sisco was tabbed to the Honor Roll on February 20th.

·         Mercy was picked fourth in the ECC Preseason Poll after going 11-38 last season, qualifying for the ECC Tournament for the second straight season. The Mavericks went 9-15 in ECC play a year ago.

·         The Mavericks are 16-40 in their last 56 meetings against Molloy.

·         Mercy is 6-4 all-time against D'Youville.

·         Sisco is hitting .353 with a team-high 30 runs, 10 doubles and 47 hits to go along with six RBI. Senior Hailey Puglia is hitting .245 with 24 hits and three doubles and senior Nicole Smart has 20 hits and 14 RBI. Johnston has 24 RBI with two home runs, eight doubles and a .273 average and junior Alexandra Karavias has a home run and four RBI.

·         Crawford is hitting a team-best and ECC-best .469 with 15 RBI, four home runs, 45 hits, 28 runs and 14 stolen bases. Franck is hitting .298 with a team-high 25 RBI and a team-high five home runs. Seppala is hitting .324 with 11 RBI and 24 runs scored.

·         The pitching staff is led by Benson who is 5-11 with a 3.53 ERA in 109 innings with 83 strikeouts. She set a school record for career strikeouts with her 283rd career strikeout at Molloy on March 30th and recorded her 300th career strikeout at Queens on April 13th. Senior Angelina Oquendo is 1-9 with a 5.31 ERA in 62 innings and freshman Marina Provencio is 4-2 in the circle with a 6.18 ERA in 39.2 innings.

·         Benson, Sisco and senior Samantha Franck were named Second Team All-ECC last season.

·         Mercy is hitting .259 as a team through 38 games and has a 4.95 ERA.

Scouting the Lions

·         Molloy is coming off 12-1 and 5-4 wins over Staten Island on April 11th. The Lions will play at Adelphi on Thursday before playing at Mercy on Saturday.

·         The Lions were picked tied for second in the ECC Preseason Poll after going 24-33 last season, advancing to the final of the ECC Championship.

·         Molloy is led at the plate by one-time ECC Player of the Week Karsyn Eaton who is batting .339 with 15 runs, eight doubles and 15 RBI. Alex Burns has a team-high 33 RBI with eight home runs, 20 runs and nine stolen bases. Chrissie Huhn has 14 RBI and has 15 runs scored.

·         Cheralyn Dusharme has 12 RBI and one-time ECC Rookie of the Week Mae Savage has nine RBI. Two-time ECC Player of the Week Steph Conrade has 16 RBI, a team-high 24 stolen bases to go along with a team-high 25 runs.

·         One-time ECC Pitcher of the Week Amanda King is hitting .299 at the plate with 14 RBI and 22 runs scored. She is also 10-7 in the circle with a 3.07 ERA in 102.2 innings with 55 strikeouts. One-time ECC Pitcher of the Week Brianna Macias is 8-2 in the circle with a 2.45 ERA in 88.2 innings with 48 strikeouts.

·         Molloy is hitting .286 as a team and has a 2.85 team ERA.

Scouting the Saints

·         D'Youville is coming off 1-0 and 5-0 wins over Queens on Sunday. The Saints will play at STAC on Saturday before playing at Mercy on Sunday.

·         The Saints were picked in a tie for second in the ECC Preseason Poll after going 29-14 last season.

·         D'Youville is led at the plate by one-time ECC Player of the Week Hannah Bardeen who has a team-high 29 RBI, eight home runs, eight doubles and 28 runs scored and is hitting a team-high .340 on the year. One-time ECC Pitcher of the Week Lauren Booth is hitting .317 with 15 RBI and two home runs and Gianna Adamo is hitting .330 with 10 RBI.

·         Mikayla Bush and Laura Beck are both tied for third on the team with 14 RBI and Jamie Bower has 13 RBI.

·         The pitching staff is led by Sarah Parzych who is 7-8 in the circle with a 3.29 ERA in 98 innings with 50 strikeouts. Booth is 4-5 in the circle with a 4.22 ERA in 76.1 innings with 38 strikeouts. Cassie Crerar is 2-7 with a 5.96 ERA in 47 innings with 30 strikeouts.

·         D'Youville is hitting .267 as a team and has a 4.19 team ERA.
