WEST BABYLON, N.Y. (July 27, 2023) – The East Coast Conference (ECC) has recognized three Mercy College teams and 166 student-athletes for their academic success. Men's Soccer, women's lacrosse and men's lacrosse earned ECC Academic Team of Excellence, and a school-record 166 student-athletes were tabbed to the ECC Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Mercy men's soccer produced the highest cumulative GPA of all ECC men's soccer teams with a 3.67 GPA. Men's Soccer earns the Academic Team of Excellence award for the fourth straight time. Mercy women's lacrosse produced the highest cumulative GPA of all ECC women's lacrosse teams with a 3.64 GPA. Women's Lacrosse earns the award for the second time. Mercy men's lacrosse also produced the highest cumulative GPA of all ECC men's lacrosse teams with a 3.30 GPA. Men's Lacrosse earns the award for the fourth time in program history. The athletic department has now earned 10 Academic Team of Excellence awards and the three this year are the most in a single year for the Mavericks.
Student-athletes on the ECC Commissioner's Honor Roll must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher to be included. The 166 Mercy honorees are:
