DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Jan. 4, 2024) – The Mercy University Athletic Department continued to excel in the classroom during the fall 2023 semester, ending the semester with a 3.53 cumulative GPA.

The 3.53 department GPA is the highest since spring of 2020 when the Mavericks posted a 3.55 cumulative GPA during the COVID-19 pandemic. It marked the 20th straight semester that the department posted above a 3.0 cumulative GPA. All 10 teams posted above a 3.2 GPA. The success in the classroom translated to a school-record 42 student-athletes recording a perfect 4.0 GPA during the semester and a school-record 189 student-athletes out of 247 total student-athletes recording a 3.25 GPA or higher during the fall semester. Currently 185 student-athletes have above a 3.25 cumulative GPA.

The women's lacrosse team recorded the highest GPA for fall 2023, checking in at 3.76. The men's soccer team had the highest GPA out of male teams with a 3.73 GPA.
