WEST BABYLON, N.Y. (Jan. 8, 2024) – Mercy University men's basketball senior Jayden Dewaal (Toronto, Canada/Trinidad State Junior College) and junior Taj Chiles (Harlem, N.Y./University of Bridgeport) have been named to the East Coast Conference (ECC) Men's Basketball Honor Roll for Week Eight.

Dewaal had a game-high 24 points and nine rebounds on 11-of-19 shooting with a game-high two blocks in Mercy's 81-65 win over Cheyney on Wednesday.

Chiles had 17 points and a game-high 10 assists on 7-of-12 shooting in Mercy's 81-65 win over Cheyney on Wednesday. The junior also added four rebounds and three steals in the win.

The award is the second earned by Dewaal this season and the first for Chiles. Mercy has earned four awards on the year.

Head Coach Chris Watts and the Mavericks resume action tomorrow when they host Bloomfield at 7 p.m.
