DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Dec. 10, 2024) – Mercy University men's basketball freshman Ethan Robertson (Boston, Mass./The Winchendon School) has been named Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) Division II-III Player of the Week Honorable Mention for games played Dec. 2-8.
Robertson averaged a team-high 21.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game on 58.6 percent shooting as Mercy went 1-1 on the week. The freshman opened the week with 17 points and six rebounds on 7-of-14 shooting against Chestnut Hill on Tuesday. The forward ended the week with a double-double by way of a team-high and career-high 26 points and 12 rebounds on 10-of-15 shooting in the 84-83 win over Roberts Wesleyan on Friday. Robertson hit the game-winning shot as time expired to give Mercy their first win over the Redhawks since 2019.
The award is the second earned by Robertson this season and the Mavericks have earned eight awards this season.
