Glennerster and Sullivan Named to ECC Baseball Honor Roll

WEST BABYLON, N.Y. (Feb. 26, 2024) – Mercy University baseball graduate student Justin Glennerster (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Joseph by the Sea) and junior Jack Sullivan (Orlando, Fla./Allegany College of Maryland) have been named to the East Coast Conference (ECC) Baseball Honor Roll for Week Two.

Glennerster hit a team-high .533 (8-for-15) with three RBI, a home run, a double, and two runs scored in five games this week. The graduate student opened the week going 1-for-2 with an RBI against nationally-ranked No. 5 UNC Pembroke on Tuesday and went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored against Felician on Friday. Glennerster then went 5-for-7 with an RBI and a run scored in the Mavericks' doubleheader split against Adelphi on Saturday.

Sullivan went 1-0 on the mound with a 0.00 ERA and three strikeouts in 4.1 innings pitched in two appearances. The junior opened the week with a scoreless inning pitched in his first start as a Maverick against No. 5 UNC Pembroke on Tuesday. The pitcher ended the week with 3.1 scoreless innings of relief with two strikeouts to earn the win against Adelphi on Saturday.

The award is the second earned by Glennerster this season and the first for Sullivan. Mercy has now earned five awards on the year.

Head Coach Chris Schoen and the Mavericks resume action on Saturday, March 2nd when they play at Southern Connecticut State at 12 p.m.
