DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Jan. 15, 2025) – The Mercy University softball team has announced its 2025 regular season schedule, which includes 10 home doubleheaders at Smith Field. The Mavericks will open their season on Saturday, March 1st at Bloomfield. Mercy will play 13 games against schools that qualified for the NCAA Tournament in 2024. The Mavericks look to qualify for the ECC Championship for the fifth straight season.
Mercy opens their season with a doubleheader at Bloomfield on March 1st. The Mavericks will then head down to Melbourne, Florida where they will face Southern New Hampshire and Holy Family on March 7th. Mercy will then play 2024 NCAA Tournament participant Gannon and Cedarville on March 8th before taking on New Haven and Bloomfield on March 10th. The Mavericks conclude their southern trip facing Minnesota Crookston and Thomas More on March 11th.
Head Coach Jaime Lorenzo and the Mavericks return to New York playing at 2024 NCAA Tournament participant Adelphi for a doubleheader on March 16th. Mercy opens ECC play with a doubleheader at home against Staten Island on March 21st before hosting American International on March 22nd.
The Mavericks resume ECC play on March 25th at defending ECC Champion St. Thomas Aquinas before hosting New Haven on March 27th. Mercy concludes the month of March with a doubleheader at ECC foe D'Youville on March 29th.
Mercy begins the month of April with a home doubleheader against 2024 NCAA Tournament participant Pace on April 2nd before playing at Queens in an ECC matchup on April 4th. The Mavericks host 2024 NCAA Tournament participant Molloy for a doubleheader on April 5th before hosting Felician on April 9th.
Lorenzo and the Mavericks then play at Dominican on April 10th before playing at Staten Island on April 12th. Mercy hosts non-conference foe Jefferson on April 13th before hosting St. Thomas Aquinas on April 15th.
The Mavericks play at Caldwell on April 17th in their final non-conference games of the season. Mercy hosts D'Youville in an ECC doubleheader on April 19th before playing at Molloy in ECC games on April 26th. The Mavericks conclude the regular season on April 27th hosting Queens for Senior Day.
The ECC Championship will take place on May 1-3 at the No. 1 seed.
