MANSFIELD, Mass. (Jan. 30, 2025) – Mercy University field hockey junior Rebecca McClure (Canastota, N.Y./Pace University) and sophomore Madison Preston (Brookfield, Conn./Brookfield) have been named to the Northeast-10 Conference (NE10) Field Hockey Fall Academic All-Conference Team, as announced by the conference office earlier today.
To be eligible for selection to the NE10 Academic All-Conference teams, a student-athlete must have met or exceeded the following minimum requirements: started in at least half or played in at least two-thirds of the team's competitions as a significant contributor and achieved a 3.30 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale).
McClure and Preston are two of 22 student-athletes named to the Field Hockey Academic All-Conference Team. McClure and Preston both earn the award for the first time.
McClure currently has a 3.97 GPA as a Health Science Pre-OT major. The junior was named NE10 Goalie of the Week twice in 2024, starting 13 games with a 5-8 record, 81 saves, a .757 save percentage and 2.22 goals-against average. She made a season-high 15 saves at Assumption on September 28th.
Preston has a 4.0 GPA as a Biomedical Sciences major. The sophomore appeared in 17 games making 15 starts with four goals, four assists and 12 points. Preston ranked second on the team in points and goals and tied for the team lead in assists. She had a goal and an assist against D'Youville (Sept. 14) and Molloy (Sept. 25).
