Five From Men's Soccer Named to ECC All-Conference Teams

COLONIA, N.J. – Mercy University Men's Soccer senior Hugo Martin (Malaga, Spain/Rogers State University) and junior Mario de Roque Zazón (Zaragoza, Spain/Newman University) have been named East Coast Conference (ECC) Men's Soccer Second Team All-Conference and seniors Mateo Bacigalupo (Buenos Aires, Argentina/Colegio Cardenal Newman) and Santiago Serrano (Bogota, Colombia/Rogers State University), and junior Pau Ramon (Santa Ponca, Spain/Southeastern CC) have been tabbed Third Team All-Conference, as announced by the conference office earlier today.

Martin is named All-Conference for the first time. The senior has started 16 games with four goals, two assists, 10 points and two game-winning goals. The midfielder is currently tied for the team lead in goals and is tied for third in points. Martin scored a season-high two goals, including the game-winning goal, in Mercy's win at East Stroudsburg on September 4th.

De Roque Zazón receives All-Conference honors following his first season as a Maverick. The junior has appeared in 15 games making 13 starts with three goals, five assists and 11 points. The midfielder leads the team in assists and is second in points. De Roque Zazón had a season-high two goals in the win over Bridgeport on September 13th and had a season-high two assists at West Chester on September 17th.

Bacigalupo takes home All-Conference honors for the first time in his career. The senior has played in 12 games making 11 starts with four goals, four assists, 12 points and one game-winning goal. The forward is tied for the team lead in goals and leads the team in points. Bacigalupo recorded a season-high three points on a goal and an assist in the win at STAC on October 22nd.

Serrano is named Third Team All-Conference after being a First Team All-Conference selection last year. The senior has appeared in 16 games making 13 starts with three goals, one assist, seven points and one game-winning goal. The one-time ECC Honor Roll recipient scored a season-high two goals in the win over Pace on October 15th.

Ramon is tabbed All-Conference after his first season as a Maverick. The junior has started all 17 games and has three goals, one assist, seven points and two game-winning goals. The one-time ECC Honor Roll recipient produced a season-high three points on a goal and an assist in the win at AIC on October 29th.
